I don’t think it’s a stretch to say that everyone has had a Rum and Coke. Sure, it’s not my go-to drink, but it is for thousands of people. I wanted to make a cocktail that was accessible in taste and didn’t require a secret language to order. Since “gimmearumancoke” just rolls off the tongue, I figured I owed it to people to create a “legit” cocktail that had the highlights of taste, without the simplicity of just rum and…coke. So, here’s Rum and No Coke. There’s no coke. But it tastes like a Rum and Coke. The Hella company makes some great flavored syrups, and the cola syrup fit the bill nicely. Of course, I had to go local for the rum, so Raleigh Rum Company it is. It might be hard to find the “Beebop” rhubarb liqueur, so here’s a link for online ordering.
Does it taste just like a Rum and Coke? Not identically, but if you like Rum and Coke, you’ll probably like this.
