I started CaptainCocktails on Instagram in response to the bombardment of angry political discourse going on over social media during the 2016 presidential election. I was tired of the mudslinging and straw man arguments, so I just started posting pictures of cocktails instead. My cocktail of the week turned into a cocktail of the day, and I was soon looking for more ways to create good-looking delicious-tasting cocktails. I had a lot of fun on Instagram, so I turned it into this site.
I’m a home cocktail enthusiast, amateur mixologist, photography hobbyist, student, veteran.
