Cocktail: The Bronx

You know a cocktail has to be a classic if it’s on “The World’s 10 Most Famous Cocktails in 1934” list. Some things evolve over time, but this recipe is more or less the same as what it was back then. This drink is actually a little older than that, though, and dates from somewhere around 1890-1900. I have a few small departures from the recipe in mine… I love subbing in Punt E Mes anywhere I can, and I add a few dashes of bitters that probably didn’t appear in the original. The spirit of the original Bronx is still there, though, and it’s a fruity orange concoction that’s very easy to drink.

Ingredients:

Combine all your ingredients in a shaker over ice, shake and strain into a glass.  Garnish with an orange peel and enjoy!
