For Thanksgiving, I prepped my making a Cranberry mixer that had all of my favorite flavors in it. I canned these in mason jars for use in all my upcoming Thanksgiving week cocktails, and it worked out perfectly. To start I took 64 oz of Cranberry cocktail juice and set it on the stove to boil. To that I added these ingredients:
- 2 oz Fireball (cheating, but it’s just so easy…)
- 2 large cinnamon sticks
- 3 large sprigs of rosemary
- About 2 tablespoons of cloves
- 1 oz Luxardo Maraschino
I heated all these together and let it simmer until it reduced to about half the original volume. I then poured this into 4 mason jars and added this:
- 2 dashes of Crude “Ginger No. 2” bitters
- 2 oz Redemption Rye
To make Thanksgiving punch I took two of these jars, mixed them over ice with a 2L bottle of Ginger Ale, added ginger beer to taste, and tossed in an additional 3 oz of Rye. I garnished the punch glass with half a bag of cranberries. Simple, and easy!
The cocktail version: The Cranberry Mule, is even easier!
To make the cocktail version here’s what I used:
- 1 1/2 oz Larceny Bourbon
- 3 oz Cranberry mixer
- 3 oz ginger beer
Mixed together, then poured over crushed ice and garnished with cranberries and a mint sprig. Super easy, as long as you make the mixer up front. A very useful tool to have on hand for the holiday season!
