This weekend I had the opportunity to tour the Brothers Vilgalys production facility and taste some of their Krupnikas as well as some of their delicious cordials. This drink is made which the their Zaphod cordial, which is a mix of flavors of Guava, Starfruit, Mint, Sage, Lemongrass & Peppercorns. Of course my favorite sage based drink is the Marquee, so here’s my Zaphod Marquee.
- 3 large sage leaves
- 1 oz The Brothers Vilgalys Zaphod liqueur
- 1/2 oz Aperol
- 1 oz Conniption Navy Strength Gin
- 1/2 oz lemon juice
- A splash of simple syrup
Muddle the sage leaves lightly in the bottom of your shaker. Add the rest of the ingredients and shake with ice. Strain into a glass and garnish with a fresh sage leaf.
This turned out even more delicious than my standard sage Marquee. If you have a bottle of Zaphod I would make this the first cocktail you try!
