I think this cocktail came about because I couldn’t commit to making a Dark and Stormy, and instead just started grabbing ingredients that would make something delicious. It worked, and I came out with a hybrid ginger-beer mule-like drink that is made even more awesome by this owl mug.
Ingredients:
- 2 oz Havana Club dark rum
- 1 oz Mint infused simple syrup
- 1 sprig of fresh mint
- 1 small bottle Fever Tree Ginger Beer
- Blackberries for garnish (optional)
-Begin by muddling the fresh mint in your shaker. Add the dark rum and the mint simple syrup.
-Prepare your glass, or in this case, your mule mug by adding crushed ice.
-Shake ingredients together and strain over crushed ice until the glass is half filled.
-Add ginger beer to fill the glass and garnish with a mint leaf and blackberries. I also like to add a paper straw to my mule drinks so you don’t get brain freeze so easily!
