This drink is smokey, smokey, smokey!
For Christmas I got some Sugar Bob’s Finest Kind smoked maple syrup and immediately had to put it to good use. As soon as I opened the bottle the entire room was filled with campfire-smoke smells. Tasting it was like drinking thick, delicious maple syrup from a burning log. I don’t think I can really convey how smokey this maple syrup is! Of course a bold flavor like this deserves a bold cocktail, so I started thinking.
The strong, smokey, sweet flavors of the maple syrup require some other big flavors to balance out, and this mix turned out perfectly.
Ingredients:
- 1 1/2 oz Larceny Bourbon
- 3/4 oz Carriage House apple brandy
- 1/2 oz red vermouth
- 1/4 oz Sugar Bob’s Finest Kind smoked maple syrup
- 3 dashes Hella Orange bitters
Mix all together and shake over ice. I garnished this with an orange peel, and if you choose to do so I recommend flaming the peel before garnishing. Enjoy!
