There are a few classic euro-cocktails out there that everyone needs to try, and the Aperol Spritz is one of them. I put a little more orange into the flavor, but not so much that it becomes sweet and heavy – it stays light and refreshing. If you find yourself with a leftover bottle of Prosecco, then this is definitely where it needs to go.
Ingredients:
- 2 oz Prosecco
- 1 1/2 oz Aperol
- 1/2 oz Cointreau
- 1 dash Hell Orange Bitters
- 1 dash Crude “Ginger No. 2” bitters
- Soda water as desired to top
I mix the Aperol, Cointreau, and bitters together over ice and stir it up before I add anything fizzy. Add the Prosecco next, and pour into your glass, then top with as much soda water as you like for stronger or lighter drinks. I garnished these with an orange slice and a sprig of rosemary, which goes well with the Aperol’s bitter orange taste.
There are endless variations of this, what do you prefer?
